Respiratory Therapy

RT Curriculum

The curriculum for the Respiratory Care program at KSAU-HS was adopted from South Alabama University because their program is based on problem-based learning (PBL).

Problem-based Learning is a new, modern, and popular strategy approach to learning in medical education in which students and faculty alike value the connection from theory to practice. KSAU-HS has integrated problem-based learning into its curriculum as one of its main approaches.

Our curriculum is designed to integrate academic knowledge and clinical skills early so that student becomes self-sufficient in the learning process. It also involves a great deal of lab work and technology to improve the learning experience and motivation. This is achieved in cooperation and collaboration with King Abdulaziz Medical city (KAMC) in Riyadh.

The KAMC-Riyadh has the best trauma center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is the only one of its kind in the Middle East.

The department of Respiratory Services in National Guard Hospital-Riyadh is one of the biggest departments in the Kingdom with a capacity of 200 staff covering the entire hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week, taking care of critical conditions and dealing with very sophisticated hightech equipment.

Phase I: Pre-Professional (Preparatory Four Semesters, which are offered to all health science colleges).

Phase II: Professional courses (Four semesters)
